Pedro, of the Aquario Nacional de Cuba, maintains the coral nursery located in Guanahacabibes National Park. Pedro and volunteers cleaned the coral trees in the nursery to keep algae from growing on the corals and the trees. Mature coral fragments get outplanted nearby and past crops are thriving!

This is a unique scuba and land-based adventure, under a humanitarian aid visa, supporting environmental protection efforts in western Cuba.

We travel to Guanahacabibes National Park and helped protect one of the wildest, most biologically diverse ecosystems in the Caribbean.

Along the way, we meet Cuban scientists, farmers, and park rangers. We help in the national park's turtle monitoring program, the Aquario Nacional at their coral reef nursery, and support local sustainable agriculture.
