FACULTY LED
&
SHORT TERM CUSTOM PROGRAMS
We know that planning a class abroad trip can be an incredibly daunting task, and we’re here to help.
We know the value of experiential learning but we also know how busy you are. With resident teams in both of our locations, who are experts in their fields, we have 10+ years of experience in creating and executing programs that transform participants, enhance learning outcomes and fit educational demands.
We know that, historically, faculty members have had to be responsible for so much more than teaching the course. From overseeing program reservations and payments, on-site crises, logistical changes, risk management, and everything else that comes with these programs.
That’s where we come in
We take care of all the logistical requirements and can assist you with the academic programming where needed, so you can take care of what matters the most, teaching! Through our experience, on-site management, and local connections, we will support you every step of the way.
Why Choose IOI?
Our service learning and faculty led programs are fully customizable and regardless of your academic focus we will co-design and organize a program to your specific needs and learning outcomes, offering a unique, transformative experience. We work hard to support the needs of students, faculty, and study abroad administrators.
We believe in the transformative power of experiential learning specially when enhanced by guided reflection sessions. We work with the faculty to include reflection topics and sessions, as well as other service opportunities to ensure these trips have a short and long term impact on the students. Our aim is to engage, educate, and help create global citizens who are inspired to be part of the solution and who continue to contribute towards a sustainable world.
Short-term programs, long term impact.
We work with our partner institutions to include a service component in all our short term programs, where possible. This ensures that every trip not only enhances the learning outcomes but also has an impact on IOI’s long term sustainable goals, and thus contributes to the UN SDGs.
The implementation of the SDGs ensures a human-environmental balance and economic prosperity for today while ensuring the same benefits for all future generations. IOI aims to engage, educate, and help create global citizens who are inspired to be part of the solution and who continue to contribute towards a sustainable world.
Global Competence
Why don’t you add the AFS Global Competency Certificate to your trip? As part of our commitment to offering impactful experiential education opportunities in Cuba and the Galapagos, IOI promotes the AFS Global Competence Certificate as part of our pre-trip tools, and when discussing faculty-led and study abroad programs, we suggest this course when the institution does not offer a similar course to their students.
