Familias del Buen Vivir, Galapagos  

The Familias del Buen Vivir (FdBV) and IOI have been partners since the beginning and the alliance is rooted in IOI’s core principal of empowering isolated communities.

The overarching objective of the program is to empower local families based on the principles of respect, community participation, and equity.

Through this partnership, IOI staff and volunteers conduct several weekly workshops and trainings for local families in Isabela on topics such as: English, Personal and Family Development, Preventative Health, Urban Gardening, Arts and Crafts, and Responsible Pet Ownership.

The FdBV program is focused largely on female empowerment. Ninety percent of those who participate in workshops and trainings are women.
